Last weekend I was in Edinburgh to meet up with Kris and Alison for their Royal Scots Club Wedding.

It was a hot one, both inside and out, but an amazing day, and we also got the chance to pop in to the private Queens Street Gardens for a few portraits of newly weds too.

Below is Kris and Alison’s wedding photofilm for you to enjoy, feel free to leave the happy couple a message underneath if you wish.

Many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Eng, and all the best for the future!

  • Wendy Kong - Most wonderful, what a beautiful video 🙂

A couple of weeks ago I photographed Stuart and Rebecca’s Craigsanquhar House Wedding.

We started off at Invergowrie Parish Church before crossing the Tay bridge and heading to Craigsanquhar House Hotel for the reception and evening party.

Thankfully the high winds from the morning calmed down enough so that they didn’t stop us venturing in to the grounds of Craigsanquhar to capture some beautiful images.

Below is Stuart and Rebecca’s wedding slideshow for you to enjoy, feel free to leave the happy couple a message underneath if you wish.

Many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Rees, and all the best for the future!

  • Iona Reid - SUPERB

A few weeks ago I was with Craig and Hannah for their beautiful St Salvator’s Chapel wedding in St Andrews.

St Salvator’s Chapel is a stunning 600 year church right in the centre of St Andrews, after the ceremony everyone made their way down to the Old Course Hotel for the reception and evening party.

Below is Craig and Hannah’s wedding slideshow, feel free to leave the happy couple a message underneath if you wish.

Many congratulations to Mr and Mrs McDonald, and all the best for the future!

  • Iona Reid - Absolutely beautiful – certainly a day to remember <3

  • Carol Nicol - Stunning video. Love the dress what a beautiful bride. Great photographs.

I first met up with Rob and Katy in April last year for a chat about their wedding at New Lanark Mill and for their engagement shoot, and straight away we hit it off. Their wedding took place in October and as with the majority of my weddings my day started with the bridal prep shots with Katy and her bridesmaids in one of the cottages at the New Lanark Mill.

New Lanark Mill is a beautiful venue, an 18th century cotton mill part restored in to a heritage museum and part converted in to a hotel and cottages.

After the ceremony we headed out in to the grounds and up to the roof of the mill itself to capture some images before sitting down for the meal and then getting in to the swing of things with the evening party.

A wonderful day, a lovely couple and a fantastic venue, I’ll leave you with some kind words from Katy and Rob:

Thank you so much for the images, Rob and I looked through them all last night together. They are amazing and it’s so lovely to look back on the day now and see it from someone else’s perspective, all the little things we didn’t perhaps notice at the time. A massive thank you too for the beautiful wedding slideshow… it brought a lot of tears to a lot of eyes apparently! -Katy

On the last Saturday in March I was honoured to be asked to document Lauren and Mehul’s very intimate St Andrews Wedding.

Their wedding was a very small affair, with only their parents and a few close friends attending. The ceremony was performed by both sets of parents and took place in the gardens of the house they were staying at.

Afterwards we all took a (very windy) walk around St Andrews to capture some portraits of them.

Below is their wedding slideshow, please feel free to leave a comment underneath for the happy couple.

We had a beautiful spring day and although a little windy that didn’t stop us having a great day and capturing some excellent photographs.

Below is Marc and Jenna’s wedding slideshow, feel free to leave the happy couple a message underneath if you wish.

Last November I found myself up in Aberdeen for Stuart and Rachel’s Maryculter House Hotel wedding. MaryCulter House is a beautiful hotel situated on the banks of the River Dee near Aberdeen, surprisingly for Scotland in November the weather was sunny and (reasonably) warmish so Rachel had opted to have their ceremony outside in the hotel’s courtyard next to the river.

As with all weddings that are a little further afield I had travelled up to Aberdeen the day before and stayed in the hotel so I was there ready to go first thing in the morning. My day started with Rachel and her bridesmaids in their room to capture the bridal preparation images and some detail shots of the wedding dress, shoes and flowers.

From there I headed down to the courtyard to catch up with Stuart and the grooms men before all the guests started to arrive for the ceremony.

Rachel was piped down the aisle by the piper from Alba Bagpipes to Caledonia played on the small pipes, which sounded amazing.

After the ceremony everyone moved in to the bar for the reception drinks then it was onwards to the ballroom for the speeches and meal.

Then the band arrived and after the first dance the evening party got in to full swing!

Below are a selection of images from Stuart and Rachel’s Maryculter House Hotel Wedding, please feel free to leave a comment underneath for the happy couple if you wish.

I’ve finally managed to get time to go through my weddings from 2014 and select my favourite wedding images from the year, and what a great year it was here at Reids Photography, I am always honoured to be able to document so many great weddings, I hope that the moments that I capture are remembered and enjoyed for years to come.

This last year was busier than ever and saw me at some new venues as well as some that I get to visit a lot photographing a wide variety of weddings, I’ve travelled from Lockerbie to Aberdeen and it also included two weddings in Devon!

I’ve enjoyed playing a small part in them all, each with its own unique character and along the way I’ve met some fantastic people, a few things that each wedding did have though was a brilliant bride and groom, an abundance of laughter, love and a whole lot of fun.

Looking back through my weddings from 2014 I’ve selected a few of my favourites from the weddings I’ve covered, with 1000’s of images to choose from this was not an easy task, but I’ve managed to narrow it down and packed then in to a 4 minute wedding photography slideshow.

My criteria for selection was purely based on my personal favourites, images that stood out for me for being romantic, funny, emotive or just simply because I liked them.

I hope you enjoy watching it. Best wishes to all my couples, past and future, and all the best for the years to come.

If you are planning your wedding for 2015 or 2016 then get in touch to find out more about my packages.

Paul and Claire’s Old Course Hotel wedding was my last one of 2014 talking place between Christmas and New Years Eve.

The weather might have been cold, but the sun was out and added it’s warmth to a truly excellent day.
