On the last day of 2012 I was the wedding photographer for Emily and Oliver’s New Years Eve Old Course Hotel wedding in St Andrews. One of my regular venues on a not so regular cold but bright December day, but a great Scottish wedding venue at any time of the year.
The day started with Oliver the guys at Greyfrairs Hotel, getting a few detail shots and some photos of the groom and his bestman and ushers before a short detour via the New Golf Club for a whisky for the guys, (not me though!) on route to the Old Course Hotel itself to see Emily and the girls before going downstairs to the conservatory for the ceremony itself. With the sun shining through conservatory at the Old Course Hotel the light was perfect for capturing photos of Emily and Oliver’s big day.
Day light is something that can be an issue at winter weddings, especially at Scottish weddings when the days are very short, but we were very lucky with the weather and treated to a beautiful sunset for the groups photos on the decking on the roof of the Old Course Hotel and for some stunning bride and groom portraits on the Swilcan Bridge on the famous Old Course.
All in all a beautiful Scottish winter wedding, a great day and a gorgeous couple.
Congratulations My and Mrs Allen.
