Last November I found myself up in Aberdeen for Stuart and Rachel’s Maryculter House Hotel wedding. MaryCulter House is a beautiful hotel situated on the banks of the River Dee near Aberdeen, surprisingly for Scotland in November the weather was sunny and (reasonably) warmish so Rachel had opted to have their ceremony outside in the hotel’s courtyard next to the river.
As with all weddings that are a little further afield I had travelled up to Aberdeen the day before and stayed in the hotel so I was there ready to go first thing in the morning. My day started with Rachel and her bridesmaids in their room to capture the bridal preparation images and some detail shots of the wedding dress, shoes and flowers.
From there I headed down to the courtyard to catch up with Stuart and the grooms men before all the guests started to arrive for the ceremony.
Rachel was piped down the aisle by the piper from Alba Bagpipes to Caledonia played on the small pipes, which sounded amazing.
After the ceremony everyone moved in to the bar for the reception drinks then it was onwards to the ballroom for the speeches and meal.
Then the band arrived and after the first dance the evening party got in to full swing!
